Lymphatic drainage massage after plastic surgery
After your plastic surgery procedure it is common to experience hardness, swelling, bruising or lumpiness to the areas treated. All of these symptoms are normal reaction to the surgery, they are caused by inflammation and trauma from the procedure.
Manual Lymphatic Massage can help to move the fluid back into the lymph vessels and nodes reducing the swelling, retention of fluids and pain after the surgery. The MLD help to ensure that the inflammation doesn't progress into permanent hardening of the tissue called fibrosis. It also reduces the risk of developing seroma.
Many plastic surgeons prescribe Lymphatic Drainage Therapy after tummy tuck or liposuction to make sure their clients get the best possible results from their procedure.
Scar Therapy after plastic surgery
Once the incisions are fully healed after your surgery we can start working on your scars. The Restore Scar Therapy used in our clinic gently and effectively stimulates the healing and softens fibrosis as the scar matures. The scar therapy won't make the scar disappear but the treatment helps the scar to become and stay supple and less visible. Smooth and flexible scar without adhesions is also very important for free movement of the surrounding area.
The scar therapy consists of specific scar massage which should always be within your comfort levels. You will also be given advise on self-care for you to continue at home.
